Michael Deane

This is a pastel painting by Brian of Mary's cousin Michael Deane.
A photograph by a local professional Photographer, Eamonn O'Boyle was used as the basis for the painting.
It was taken at the opening of the newly refurbished Hotel, Teach Iorrais (Erris House). Michael was one of its first customers in the bar, and had been a regular customer of the hotel in its previous life.
In his youth Michael was a very handsome, debonair young man who turned many's the young cailin’s head. His favourite saying was ‘enjoy the beer, the lady and the craic’
