Michael Hannon by Brian

Michael is a Nottingham-Irish poet. He's a regular contributor to Ireland's Own. Born in Dunmore, Co Galway, Michael was schooled in Skibbereen, Co Cork. He came over to pick spuds in 1946 and has been here ever since.
He's written books, recorded CDs and won national poetry awards.
We met him at a St Patrick's Day parade meeting in 2005. I actually painted Michael before I met him using a photo taken by his grandaughter which I found in a magazine, she allowed me to use it.
The painting was bought by Michael's daughter Anna.
